Focus On What Matters
-
Meditation
Our spirit is central to how we think, process, feel, and produce. Starting every day from the soul calibrates all of our decisions and is the root driver of all personal formation. The quiet of the soul, the calming of the mind, prayer, the understanding of proverbs, and the pursuit of spiritual fullness are fundamental platforms to build each day on.
-
Application
As we process revelation, forgiveness, healing, worship, and wisdom - we yearn to apply these things. How can we take these and inject them into our thinking, our practices or habbits, our interaction with others? How we can encourage someone with this days gifts of insight or inspiration?
-
Thankfulness
A thankful and grateful person is impossible to hold back in life. Bitterness, resentment, jealousy, envy, strife - these are commonplace and easy to be trapped in. A person who spends each day forming and shaping a worldview of gratitude will see a different world around them than those who don't.
-
Tasks
Capturing tasks and important time stamps allow you to free up your mind for other things while having assurance there is always a reference point to revisit and review. Spending a few minutes to structure important todos also allows you to evaluate the realistic scope of tasks needed while providing that all-to-wonderful 'check'.
-
Exercise
Regular physical exercise is more than just a routine of exerting oneself physically. While vitality is an obvious benifit, other effects are not quite as obvious. Healthy exercise and eating also contribute to deeper spiritual, emotional, and relational connections. The human body naturally produces compounds that promote stability throughout your life.
-
Relationships
As we take on more responsibility & challenges in our lives, relationships often can go by the wayside. Taking time each day to reflect on important connections is so simple, but incredibly neglected. Reach out and let others know you are thinking of them. Or maybe evaluate what relationships are moving you forward or possibly holding you back.
-
Sumarize
Take notes, capture profound thoughts, write down prayers, or capture special memories. End each day reviewing what you experienced within a day, and see if you can identify themes and patterns. Whether one sentence, a few words, or an intro to a book chapter - journaling is widely accepted as an outlet to bring our mind and emotions together in visual form.
